5 out of 5 stars Works like a charm   May 9, 2010

I bought this to be one of the theft deterrent devices I installed in my new car and it works like a charm. As with many products that come with batteries, expect to replace the cheap set of batteries soon and the blinking light will work perfectly!

2 out of 5 stars Poor fit on some wheels, light dies quickly, bar is very thin   April 15, 2010

Got this because you can't beat it for the price (I paid ~27.50 after Shipping), but reviewing it price aside, I must say I'm disappointed:

As others have said, the flashing LED goes out quickly (within a day of purchase in my case).

Also I am driving an older car that for whatever reason has a thinner-than-normal steering wheel grip. This means that the club can slide around an inch or two once attached on the wheel.

Most importantly, it looks bulky online, but don't be fooled -- the piece of metal that "comes out" when you attach this to your steering wheel, is literally about third of an inch (1/3") thick. Last time I checked, cutting through a half- or third- inch of metal isn't that hard...

4 out of 5 stars Good product   March 12, 2010

My car got stolen then recovered due to a key that got dropped outside my home, so I had to find a way to protect my 11 yr old car without spending a fortune. What a blessing it was to find this $20 and change product. It's about half the weight than the club yet it's a very solid product. Just place and click. It should deter the crook enough to avoid the car if he decides to steal it from my driveway again (especially with a new security light in place as well).

4 out of 5 stars Security for an old car that cant have a car alarm   February 7, 2010

works good on my chevy tracker thats 12 yrs old. the only thing is, battery on imitation light goes quick, and if the steering wheel is not down enough will hit the windsheild.

5 out of 5 stars Good steering wheel lock for a good price   January 25, 2010

Good steering wheel lock, have used the club in the past, definitely prefer this MasterLock. Easy to use and like the other reviewers said, a steering wheel lock is at best a deterrent, cannot really stop a determined thief. More details are below:

Things I LIKE:

It fits really well over the steering wheel of my Mazda, the lock seems sturdy and well made.

Its also very easy and fast to lock into place compared to the Club. On the Club, you pull the hooks into place and then lock it using a key, I get frustrated with balancing the heavy club along with turning the key. On this masterlock, when you unlock it, the lock pops out a little bit from its frame, so while re-locking it, after you've have pulled the hooks apart on the steering wheel, to lock, just push the popped-out part back in. This sets it apart from the Club and makes it much easier to use.

Has a little LED light at the end that can be turned on/off, another visual deterrent.

Uses a regular key and not a barrel-key that may be picked easily with a bic-pen.

Double hooks should make it harder to take off the wheel.

Things I DON'T LIKE:

The lock itself and the key seem small, I think its a matter of perception and doesn't mean that a smaller looking lock isn't as good.
