keyless entry system June 25, 2010 Dragon 60 (Tulsa, OK) Works great and price is right. Previous reviews have stated problem of finding an approved installer. Best Buy installed for $75.99 and was fast and efficient.
No Problems Whatsoever April 5, 2010 Kashif J. Chowdhry (Bay Area, CA) This product is great. Works like a charm and (aside from the time it takes to get to your pre-wired plug) only takes 20-30 minutes to install. Don't worry about tech tip 1041. Just know that everything on this system is relay actuated. They give you access to the normally open, common, and normally closed. As long as you understand relays, you should be good to go. I highly recommend this system for anyone who wants a good keyless entry system for a good price.
My only problem with this system is that I wasn't able to get the remote start to crank my engine for me through the ignition harness on my 96 BMW 318i. This is probably due to the fact that I don't know how to properly work around the anti-theft mechanics of the system.
If you install this yourself, it voids the warranty! March 8, 2010 Lee White 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The manual says if you install this unit yourself, it will void the warranty. How can Clarion and Amazon sell an item to the public that will not have a warranty unless taken to an authorized installer? Nice for Clarion not to have to honor their warranty.
The unit installed easily and has great features. Progressive locking for driver side, then passenger unlock. Auxiliary item button and panic button. It can be set to lock and unlock when the ignition turns on and off. It also has an ignition cutout that prevents the engine from starting if the doors are not unlocked using the system. Everything you would want in a security system but without the annoying siren that everyone ignores.
Setting this up for a Ford was difficult due to the way the locks are set up. This site :

had setups for all the locking systems. You don't need to buy external relays unless your system pulls exceptionally high amperage. Most don't. Just match the relay number with the system wire (the installation book has the same numbers for reference).
Great system, well priced, but the warranty issue is deceitful.
Everything that I expected March 5, 2010 Thomas A. Curtis 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I installed this unit in my 1992 BMW, which took about 20 minutes. All I need for this car is a lock and unlock signal. This unit provides the signal and works well. The BMW uses either front door lock or the trunk lock to provide the central locking system with the signal to operate the actuators. All I had to do was install this unit in the trunk behind a trim panel wired in parallel with the trunk lock switch. I did not use the dome light, parking lights, horn honk, etc. options.
The installation instructions are not worth much, maybe nothing. Before I installed this system in my car I "installed" it on my workbench to check operation, function and identify wire leads. I had previously 'reversed engineered' a different system for another vehicle to find relay contacts and coil controls, etc. Fortunately the K20 system uses the same wire colors for the same functions as my first system. This gave me a head start, otherwise it would have taken a long time to determine functions.

The item is definitely good use for the price if you are electronically incline do it yourself or have qualified individual install it for you. The item practically plug and play for fraction of a price dealer will charge. I give 2 thumbs, 8 fingers, and 12 toes UPPPPP :)
