Product Description Our patented Side Post Battery Disconnect switch is designed to be used with General Motors style batteries with the connections on the side. A simple twist of a knob provides a convenient way to quickly disconnect and reconnect power from an automotive battery. This switch provides a clean, solid, low profile connection to GM side post batteries. The switch makes it simple to disconnect your battery to work on your vehicle or the knob can be removed to prevent theft. It also works great to eliminate battery drain if you're storing a vehicle for an extended period of time. Tested to exceed a continuous 200 amp load.
This switch can be used as an in-line device on the negative side of the battery to break the ground connection. This works well on motorcycles and vehicles that do not use conventional car batteries.
Easy to Install Instructions:
1. Disconnect ground (-) cable from battery and attach it to mounting flange side of the threaded hole on the switch.
2. Using the supplied bolt, attach switch to (-) battery post. The mounting flange on the thru-hole must contact the battery post.
3. Turn black knob fully clockwise to connect battery power. To disconnect power, turn knob 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Knob can be removed for anti-theft.
4. Keep connections clean and tight to assure optimum performance.
For batteries with two connection posts on the top, our Top Post Switch is the best selection.

Poor connection July 1, 2010 Elmer Could not get item to fasten tightly to battery post. Kept arcing against post. Left me stuck on side of road until I removed it and reconnected battery. Quite Unhappy.
Side Post Battery disconnect switch - Perfect Item! May 21, 2010 B. Higgins Just what I was looking for, works perfect. Fast shipping and item was as described. Easy to install.
Works great May 3, 2010 Michael J. Prince I bought it for a car that sits unused for months at a time and evidently had a small electrical drain somewhere. I didn't want to chase the electrical issue so I installed the master switch and open it when I park the car. Never had a dead battery when wanting to use the car since I installed it.
made in USA and you can tell March 5, 2010 B. Hudson (MO. USA) its pretty basic. you can install this in about 5 minutes and it does what its meant to do. my old truck has a problem draining the battery when it has been sitting, its not a truck i use every day so why pay a mechanic $50.00 + per hour to trace the problem. when i need the truck i make the connection close the hood and it fires right up. when im done i pop the hood and turn the disconnect close the hood part way and its ready to go the next time. MADE IN USA, MADE IN USA and you can tell.
Worked as Advertised but found a cheaper one locally February 17, 2010 F. Marsh 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This gadget worked fine. My use was to disconnect the battery when parking the car overnight because something in the car drains the battery. We have searched for years trying to determine what was draining the battery with no luck.
However, yesterday I found an equivalent device with the same design for $5.99 locally which is about one third of what I paid online (including the $7 shipping). The store is called Harbor Freight Tools [...]. They have a bunch of locations around the nation and it would well worth the effort to see if there is one in your area before buying almost any tool.
