Jumpstarted my 2007 Acura MDX 3.7-L V-6 engine June 17, 2010 Timothy Lam (Temple City, CA United States) I bought it since Dec 2009 and had only used the built-in pump to inflat my car and bicycle tires so far, but just the other day, I can't start my car - interior light flicker and nothing but the clicking noise indicating the car battery is low on power.... then I realize I have this Duracell Powerpack 300 in the trunk. What better time to test it? Even though my car battery is not completely dead (although interior lights are noticeably dimmer than normal), but since my car (Acura MDX) has a fairly big 3.7L V-6 engine, I was 100% sure this Powerpack 300 is strong enough to jumpstart. I hooked up the Powerpack's red and black jumper cables directly to my car battery. An indicator light on the Powerpack confirms my jumper connections are correct. I turned on the jumper switch on the side of the Powerpack. My car started right up with the first turn of my key! No hesitation at all, I am impressed! I checked the power reserve level and it still indicate full or close to full charge (4 bars). I have AAA membership, but the convenience of jumping my own car without spending 30min - 1hr waiting for AAA is priceless or in this case well worth the $80 I spent since I know my Powerpack will be ready when I need a jumpstart.
Works great for us June 17, 2010 Phillip Kidwell (Silicon Valley, CA) We purchased this to use on our boat in case we need to charge a phone or jump start the boat. I wasn't sure if it would do the job but we were just in a bind last weekend when our boat would not start after having the stereo on for 45 minutes. We have a big block 496 Merc V8 in our boat and the specs for the 300EP said it woudl not start a big block. Well, it did! Of course it helped that our boat was not totally dead, we had a little bit of juice to help start the boat. For $99 its a great value and saved us $350 from having to use Sea Tow!
Good for jump starts, problems with charger and compressor hose May 15, 2010 Gary Mazzei I purchased the unit a little over a year ago.It jump starts cars with no trouble.I jump started my friends Cadillac with a V8 easily. The problem I have had is the charger only worked for one charge and would not work after that.I am on my third charger replaced free by the Manufacturer. The other problem is the air compressor connection broke off so now I can't air up my tires.I will see If I can purchase a new hose and connector and replace it myself.I would have thought the hose would have been of a better quality.
Duracell DPP-300 powerpack April 27, 2010 Harry T. Good product for the price...very versatile in the way it has the jumper, air compressor and power inverter all in one unit. The only down side is that it does take a little bit to charge it up but that's about it.
its ok April 22, 2010 Thomas R. Scanio its good but only holds its charge when its plugged into and outlet, otherwise it loses its charge rather quickly
